“Whaaa?” Can’t help but shake my head that Community (whose recent Christmas ep “Regional Holiday Music” brilliantly parodied Glee with an Invasion of the Body Snatchers style plot) now sits on the shelf, presumably located somewhere on the island of misfit toys (while shows like the aforesaid Glee continue airing to relatively high ratings). In any misguided event, I feel that this viddy deserves to be posted every holiday season (and I will try to try).

“Boopy doopy doop boop SEX.”

Also: Boop boop bedoo

Community never ceases to provide reasons to adore it. The most recent Christmas episode just added a major one via this sequel to the ongoing series of “Alison Brie Santa Baby Routines” (I look forward to a completion of the trilogy some day. After doing variations on a web series and TV show, I pressume/hope the final act will be on the big screen). This episode was such a high note to go out (on haitus) on and hope with all my hoping power that NBC brings it back soon in the spring & renews it for a 4th season.

My Chouch’d Life - Thursdays Fall 2010

Thursdays
Community [08:00, NBC – starting Sep 23rd]
30 Rock [08:30, NBC – starting Sep 23rd]
The Office [09:00, NBC – starting Sep 23rd]
The League [09:00, FX – starting Sep 16th]

Comedy night, obviously. Not as busy a night as last year, with Survivor moving to Wednesdays and the GREAT Parks & Recreation only due to come back as a mid-season replacement, despite being the most consistently funny network comedy of last year. Consider me to be outright rooting against the P&R replacement, Outsourced – not only because it’s bumping out some great programming, but the previews look absolutely horrid and filled with lazy stereotype-based humour.

Community kept getting better and better during its first season and I’m confident it will continue to excel during its sophomore year (get it?). Expect plenty of posts during the season ahead (I hope), especially if Alison Brie is looking like this. As much as I enjoy the NBC Thursday night o’ laffz (especially when Parks & Rec is involved), both The Office and 30 Rock are past their primes, so I’ll just hope for a slight bounce back from last year’s seasons. The Office can hopefully send Steve Carell off in style and 30 Rock can ideally recover from a very inconsistent prior year – the talent is there, it’s just a matter of somehow keeping it fresh I guess (easy for me to say).

I’ve only watched the first couple episodes of The League’s first short season but have enjoyed them enough (thanks to a very solid comedic cast) that I’ll try to keep up on this second season as well (via online means, since it’s nowhere to be found here in Canada, like most of FX’s excellent programming). I use (brackets) too much…

I might as well mention my Friday night TV plans in this post. There are none. Until Friday Night Lights comes back to NBC, a long way from now, it’ll be movies, video games and PVR-catch-up flashing on the 42” Sony Wega here. And NBA games soon enough. And maybe a night out here and there? Same for Saturday nights, though I’ll continue record and watch and enjoy 2.5 sketches from each week’s episode of Saturday Night Live.

Nerdist Podcast #20: Alison Brie

I’ve enjoyed a few these Nerdists podcasts now, hosted by the reliably amusing Chris Hardwick. Here he and friends interview the always-charming, always-cute, always-Alison Brie. I’ve queued this one up for tomorrow’s bus ride.

Homosexual Schmomosexual | Nerve.com

by Alison Brie.

Excerpt:

I learned that pretty much anyone would have sex with me. This at first I thought was because I was “so talented” or “so creative.” Later, of course, I realized I was just easy. So I capitalized on it… I developed this (possibly misplaced) sexual pride, based solely on the quantity of penetrations of my vagina… and not necessarily the quality of the acts therein.

Oh, Alison. You should write a whole book of these stories. I would read this.

Absolutely classic scene from perhaps my favourite comedy airing right now, Community.

Episode: “Romantic Expressionism" (a really great episode it is).

"They’re just jealous".

Alison Brie - Complex Magazine Photoshoot

Yup.

It’s not the greatest footage of all-time, but it’s still swell.

I try to limit my number of reblogs, if only to push myself to make this Tumblelog have its own (my) personality. I’m a tad less discriminating with my “likes”. If I like something, I don’t mind showing so.
And on that note, I feel obligated to reblog what ended up being my 1000th “Like”. I only now noticed that I was at 1003 likes, so I checked to see what ended up being the benchmark like. A fine choice, me!
Alison Brie’s a recent addition to my tagged-items-kept-on-dashboard, so I’ve been going on a bit of a liking binge for her, which helped secure her as the milestone it seems.
Bonus info: like #999, like #1001 and like #1002.

replicant:

oh dear god.

Don’t even get me started on Alison Brie on Community. I look forward to Thursday nights more than ever. She’s also super-cute on Mad Men.
Thursday nights are stronger than ever this year. And just about the only night of network television worth paying attention to. Not only is there a decent new show in Flash Forward and a venerable classic in Survivor on CBS, but NBC’s two hour block o’ laughs is consistently great. Each week a different one of the 4 shows ends up being my favourite for the week (though Community is actually on a 2-week streak for me right now).
If I had to rank those shows for this season (and this season only), it would probably be: Parks & Recreation / Community / The Office / 30 Rock. But really, the first three are essentially tied for top spot (as I literally changed my mind in favour of each one at some point while ranking) with 30 Rock slumping a bit this year.
