Love this video to bits. A new Roots song and video, gorgeously shot in one take, made in conjunction with John Varvatos’ new 2011 Fall/Winter ad campaign. I’m forever amazed at how these fellas have any minute of spare time in their lives after all the time devoted to touring, acting as house band for a very good Late Night show, recording new music and countless other endeavors. They are true legends of the industry and I’ll never stop being impressed by my favourite group of all time.
In the song, Black Thought delivers a typically passionate extended verse like no one else can and ?uesto and Knuckles deliver strong on the percussion side. I guess Owen and Kirk couldn’t make the trip, or they decided on a more minimalist sound. All in all, yet another great piece of work for the Legendary Roots Crew…
… who I will again be seeing live this Wednesday at the Ottawa Bluesfest. Can’t wait.
