Trailer - Louie Season 2 (beginning June 23/11)
This cannot start soon enough. It’s a damn disgrace that season 1 still hasn’t aired in Canada, but in seeking out the episodes elsewhere, I came across what was my favourite new show from last year (which is saying something since 2010 introduced some other great-to-very-good news series in Boardwalk Empire, Treme, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, The Walking Dead, Parenthood [still need to watch more or any episodes of Justified, Terriers and Sherlock]).
I recently read (and recommend) a New York Magazine profile of Louis C.K. (from their recent excellent Television issue) which further outlines just how much this show is entirely Louis’ creative and experimental outlet. The article summary nicely describes what makes this show so special:
Louis C.K. writes, directs, edits and selects the music for his eponymous comedy, which is perhaps the most direct expression of a single vision in the history of TV.
A bold statement, but one I’m having trouble refuting off the top of my head. Once again, I can`t wait for season 2 to begin.
