I’ve really enjoyed the first two installments of this series (the third one looks putrid, but I’ll gladly watch it). Eli Roth has a passion for the genre that is at direct odds with the distant-feeling money-hungry Saw franchise and he needs to be making more films. This film expertly weaves sleaze, gore, revenge, sex and overall visceral horror - all while having not a single redeemable character until one character goes into hero-mode towards the end.
