decade in film: 2007
Looks like my # of viewings per year slumped for ‘07. I think this is the first year where some ***½ films slipped into the top 20 (the bottom 3 of this list). It’s not that it was a poor year for film - just that I need more time to catch up on some likely greatness. Also, how predictable are my top 3? Oh well.

– Irwin Mainway (Dan Aykroyd), on the benefits of the greatest toy for any Christmas season, Bag O’ Glass. A shame that a non-Hulu video of this classic SNL sketch is nowhere to be found.

An outstanding year in film. The top 12 are all 5-star films for me. And yet this is also a year where I feel there are an inordinate amount of desired films I haven’t yet seen.

And thus begins my lists. Every year will likely follow the same format. I go by North American release date (rather than festival date) to determine the exact year of a film. Enjoy!

PRELUDE
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
And decade.
While now may be the moment to lament the passing of time and my growing old, at least I get to bathe in a sea of lists while doing it! Like any other year, every man, woman and hyena with a website is publishing their year-end lists ‘o favourites/bests (films, albums, athletes, tv shows, haircuts, whatnots), only super-sizing things...
